Ray, I'm not sure what you mean by "copyright issue".  Since there
was
no assignment of copyright necessary to join the listserv, copyright
is a moot point (even your "waiving it implicitly" does not assign
it).  I would consider anything submitted to the list to be public
domain and fair game for compilation in any form (of course,
appropriate attribution is always a good idea).

As a US Government employee, I am not allowed to give up copyright
on
anything I write, to any other entity... so if there were any
question
of copyright owner****p of the listserv material, then I (and all US
and UK Government employees) would not be able to contribute to the
list.  But there's never been any question of copyright, so I
wouldn't
worry about it.
