I'm a very civic minded citizen, and I believe we all have our
citizen****p duties to fulfill in this free country of ours (USA).
However, I was still a bit surprised to check the mail today and find
a JURY SUMMONS envelope for me in with the bills! :-)
Now normally I wouldn't mind serving, but now? Not so much. So I
called the number on the form and told the clerk I had an exemption
but I couldn't find it listed on the form. She asked what my exemption
was, so I told her, "I'm almost 9 1/2 months pregnant with twins,
super high risk..." and before I could finish she blurts out, "WE
DON'T WANT YOU!" LOL. :-)
Then she told me what option to choose, said I didn't need a doctor's
note or anything. I told her maybe in a few months they could put me
back on the list and she started laughing, "It's going to take more
than a few months to adjust to having twins! Congratulations! And
don't worry about it, just send the form back asap." :-)
I served jury time years ago, so it was my time to serve again, I'm
sure. Only not *this* time, LOL. :-)
Carolyne in TX, tickled :-)
