| I'm not sure what you should do. Because we are in different countries we
may well do things differently. If you feel that you can't wait till
Monday
to find out what's going on then by all means go to the E.R. (Over here
they don't do ultrasounds for pelvic bleeding at the E.R they have to
admit
you and then you have to be referred for an ultrasound) If you are
filling
more than 1 pad per hour with blood then you will need to go in
regardless.
Unfortunately bright red blood just means that it's fresh. The adage that
brown blood is not so bad is not strictly true. Blood has to come from
somewhere and because it's brown can just mean it's come from the very top
of the uterus and has taken a while to come through to the vagina, that's
why it's brown. In other cases it's brown because the blood has formed a
clot at the bleed site, got old then fallen away coming out as brown.
Bright red continuous blood certainly appears bad but is not always the be
all and end all. I had continuous bleeding for 7 weeks when pregnant with
Abby. But I have also had times where there has only been a tiny amount
and m/c.
I wish I could be more help I really do. But there is no hard and fast
formula when it comes to bleeding. In some ways it would be better if we
knew bleeding meant the worst so we could prepare ourselves, but in
reality
no-one can know without an ultrasound or an HCG blood test that shows a
drop
in numbers.
If you think you can go to the ER with little hassle, and it would settle
your mind then by all means go. I'll have everything crossed that this is
just something very minor. Take care.
