My girls are almost 9 months and I am starting to think about weaning
them. I usually nurse them about 3-4 times a day (1-2 of those times
they also get some baby food). At night before bed DH and I give them
bottles. I used to nurse even if I was out and about, but just
recently started giving bottles instead because I was starting to get
uncomfortable with it. Both the girls have teeth now and bite
sometimes (Haley on purpose and Kayla on accident). And, Kayla has
started crawling so she moves around a lot while nursing which is
uncomfortable for me, and also kind of bothers me. I go back and forth
from day to day between wanting to wean and not quite being ready. The
things holding me back are:

1. It is so good for them and I really want to make it to 1 year
2. Formula is sooo expensive (especially for 2 babies!)
3. It may be my last time nursing babies and there's no going back
once they are weaned
4. I am hoping I can make it until they can have regular milk

I just got my first period this month since January of '06 when I got
pregnant! It may be because some days I nurse them less now, or it may
just be my body kicking back into gear. I know that I personally will
not feel comfortable nursing past 1 year. Now that they have teeth and
are getting mobile I am slowly getting myself ready to wean. I want to
try for baby #3 next year, and I want my body to have a break for a
while before it possibly becomes a vessel not belonging to me once
again - lol! Also, I have been getting acne and can't treat it until I
stop - ugh! I will be sad, but also proud that I made it as far as I
did, and happy to have my body to myself again - lol!
