I nursed for 1 month with my first.  It so didn't go well, so we switched
to 
pumping.  I nursed for 2 years with my 2nd, and for 22 months with my 3rd.

I can't say how to figure out when to wean, as my 2nd ended up weaning
after 
I gave birth to my 3rd, and my 3rd weaned when I was in a coma.

I was sad when I was all done.
