I'm happy to post in this group especially after knowing the connection
to adoption from India. My wife and I are from India, and are Indian
citizens. We live in the United States for few years. After our
marriage for 8 years, my wife could not get pregnant, so we did two
IVFs. The first IVF failed, the second ended up in a mis carriage. This
just happened yesterday. Now after this incident we decided to adopt.
After talking to my relatives in India, they are okay with adoption,
but nobody has any experience. My wife and I were born into a Christian
family, so we never practiced any caste system. We are god fearing,
evangelical christians. Our initial thought was to adopt a jewish
child. We love jewish people - not saying we hate everyone else. I
don't know how successful that will be, inter racial adoption may be
factor.
One of our friend from India (whose wife is an American) recently
adopted two girls from New Delhi. Both the children have special needs.
One girl with sever hearing problem, now is okay. I don't know whether
we can adopt a special need child, as adoption is first time, as well
as we don't have experience with parenting. At this point we decided to
adopt a girl.
