I was at my sister's house last week and we watched a video of my Mom
talking about our family. I didn't know this, but my Aunt (my Dad's
brother's wife) was adopted. Her adoptive father was the fire chief in
Terre Haute, Indiana and one day they opened their front door and found
a baby girl in a basket on the front ****ch! They took her in and she
became their daughter. Evidently her birthmom thought that since he
was fire chief that they had enough money to care for her. It's
amazing what we have to go through now to adopt as compared to then,
LOL! I just thought it was an intersting anecdote. :)
