Fruit juices are good too. The main thing is that the juices are fresh
made and not bottled so you're getting those food enzymes. Fresh
squeezed lemon juice in water is probably the best thing for the last
thing you eat before a water fast. I discovered I could eliminate almost
all hunger from a water fast this way. Consuming only lemon juice and
water is actually a type of fast called the "lemonade diet".

The effect of medications is much stronger while fasting, like taking
meds on an empty stomach times 5 or 10. The body is also much more
vulnerable to toxins while fasting. Don't get your teeth filled while
fasting because those "silver fillings" are 50% mercury (only 25%
silver).

During one fast I had very intense heart burn, strong enough to make me
end the fast. So I finally broke down and took just a half pill of heart
burn medication, Pepsid (I think it was called). The heart burn
completely vanished almost immediately and remained gone for the rest of
the fast without taking anymore, but when I was eating it would take
several of those over a week to work finally work. That type of
medication also takes several days to leave the body after taking it.

I'd ask your doctor about it, but what I would probably do while fasting
is to check your blood pressure often while reducing the dosage
considerably. The lemonade diet is considerably easier and safter than
water fasting and almost as effective. Might be a good idea to first try
keeping your blood pressure on this type of fast before attempting a
water fast.
