Well, to rephrase  what I said earlier, we were taught to close the eyes, 
relax with few deep breaths and then raise both hands in a V shape and
start 
the invoking prayer like I thank reiki for being here, I thank Dr Usui for

being here, I thank reiki master forbeing here, thank the situation or the

person receiving reiki for being here and finally thank myself for being 
here to give reiki. Oh god please let your divine reiki energy to flow 
through me/my hands so that I am able to heal this person or myself or the

situation.

Now this is bit time consuming or boring... through my perspective and
hence 
I wish to know how im****tant it is or is it just ok to draw the symbols 
mentally and start reiki.
