It sounds as though Maddy might have been taught by someone who mixed
magick or pagan practices in with the reiki.... Or `invoking' angels or
guides to help.
What I do is similar to the way one `settles in' to begin tai chi...
That is, take a secure stance (I'm usually standing), place my hands on
the person, take a few deep breaths and focus on my hands. That usually
starts the energy flowing.
